Code of Ethics of the KAI
A Kinesiologist is required:

1) To agree to accept and abide by this Code of Ethics and Practice and to supply the Society with a signed statement to witness this agreement. Any alteration to this Code is to be treated in like manner.

2) Not to disclose any information to a third party about any student/client which comes to his/her attention through his/her professional relationship without the client/students consent except:
(a) Where required to do so by law.
(b) In an emergency or any other dangerous situation where, in the opinion of the kinesiologist the information may assist in the prevention or possible injury or harm to the student/client or to another person.

3) To adopt a non-judgmental attitude towards the student/client.

4) Not to denigrate other kinesiologists or other professionals.

5) Not to attempt to validate kinesiology by criticism of other disciplines.

6) To advise the Secretary of the Association immediately in the event of any official governmental inquiry into his/her practice.

7) To secure and maintain insurances in accordance with the Committee of the Associations directives.

8) Not to use any title so as to falsely represent that he/she is anything other than a kinesiologist unless otherwise qualified to do so.

9) To respect a client's sensibilities and to arrange that a chaperone be present when appropriate.

10) Not to work with a child under 16 years of age except in the presence of/or with consent of, a parent or guardian, or another responsible adult.

11) Not to claim orally or in writing, diagnosis, treatment or cure of any disease.

12) Not to make or sign any false or misleading certificates or reports.

13) To maintain premises to a professional standard and to ensure that these premises, together with all equipment, are kept in a safe, serviceable and hygienic condition.
